rod and reels for trout fishing

I like to use a 6' 6" rod and a small reel with 6 pound p-line, what about you?

I have never been trout fishing(but i'm going to try it out this year)i was going to use a 6'light action with a small spinning reel,any tips for trout fishing noobs like me ?

make sure you use 6 pound or less test line, and stand back from the swtream so the fish dont see your shadow

i use 3 to 4 rods.... 2 for bait at 7'5 feet light action with 4 pound test....then 1 rod for small spinners at 6'6 ultra light action and 2 pound test.....then one for dropshots with trout worms and crappie jigs at 5'6 feet with 2 pound test.....all mono on rods to play out the fish...with light line

I use a very small shakespeare spinning reel with a 5'6 ligh action rod and 2 lb test. lots of fun!
