yea... umm y u havent lol it works pretty good for wild steelhead but i dont think the ones they put in lakes will eat it

never heard of using shrinp, nor cal steelhead would never touch shrimp

then u dont know how to fish steelhead ....if u dont think they will hit shrimp ...cause thats a part of their diet in the wild ...sooo i dont know what to tell u other than try it cause it works...just compare it to fishing shad for bass.....they eat it naturally
