It really depends on how deep u r planning on fishing them
.NOT THE SIZE OF THE BAIT!!

For shallow water about 1-7 feet u should hook the minnow on his outer gill plate...(not the gill its self)(just the gill plate)so that the hook point is pointing towards its tail...this makes the minnow swim easyer.

For deeper water 8-20 feet thats when u want the hook the minnow through the nose, as it really lets in swim around in deeper water with less drag needed to move.

REMEMBER TO USE A SWIVEL WITH LIVE (MINNOWS,SHAD ETC.) OR U WILL GET BAD LINE TWIST
